LRTC ADOPTION LISTING
Horses Available for Adoption in Nevada
Buddy, Chip and Astor

We are presently holding a number of horses in Dayton that are available for adoption. Some of the horses we are temporarily holding for other groups such as Lifesavers and the Hidden Valley Wild Horse Protection Fund. Shirley Allen can facilitate placement for any of these horses with qualified adopters.

Some of these horses are pretty wild while others have had some handling and training.

# 1340 "Midnight"

Midnight is a long 2 year old and a graduate from the Northern Nevada Correctional Facility Inmate Horse Training Program. He is a Virginia Range gelding. He injured a shin shortly before the adoption and had to be pulled. He is rehabbing well and still has some growing to do. He is a very good natured horse, plays well with the other horses, and doesn't get too disturbed about new things. Midnight is a Lifesavers horse.

Midnight has been adopted!

Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

# 600 "Bud Light"

Bud Light, or "Buddy," is a drop dead gorgeous Virginia Range pinto gelding and a former band stallion. He's at least a teenager in age. He's definitely the boss and he hasn't been gentled, but he's very level headed and seems even tempered. He got the name "Bud Light" because he's stocky and we thought he was a wannabe Clydesdale. Buddy is a Lifesavers horse.

Buddy's adoption fee is $125.00.

To find out more about adopting Buddy please email
Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

# 1331 "Chip"

At first we thought Chip was Buddy's colt. We named him "Chip" as he was like a chip off the old block. Chip is a bit of a pest as he makes trouble for the other horses, then hides behind his Buddy. (We probably should have named him "Eddie Haskell" but we didn't know how many people nowadays remembered Leave it to Beaver.) Chip has been gelded, is a Lifesavers horse and he is not gentled.

Chip's adoption fee is $125.00.

To find out more about adopting Chip please email
Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

# 1358 "Astor"

Astor is a light sorrel gelded Virginia Range yearling. He runs with the pack so we haven't as yet figured out his horsonality traits, but he is a looker. Astor is a Lifesavers horse and he is not gentled.

Astor's adoption fee is $125.00.

To find out more about adopting Astor please email
Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

# 1322 "Aden"

Aden is a 3 year old dark bay Virgina Range gelding that so far kind of goes along with the program. He's not afraid to step out front to see what's going on, but he's somewhat passive around the other horses. Aden is a Lifesavers horse and he is not gentled.

Aden's adoption fee is $125.00.

To find out more about adopting Aden please email
Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

# 1319 "Charley"

Charley is a 6 year old roan Virginia Range gelding. We think he was returned by an adopter who ran into personal difficulties. He seems to want to be curious. We don't know how much he may have been handled. Charley is a Lifesavers horse.

Charley's adoption fee is $125.00.

To find out more about adopting Charley please email
Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

# 1359 "Dapper Dan"

We make up names for these horses that relate to their looks and horsonalities so that we can remember who they are. This 7 year old Virginia Range gelding is just flashy in his coloring and his movements. Dan is a Lifesavers horse and he is not gentled.

Dan's adoption fee is $125.00.

To find out more about adopting Dan please email
Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

# 1308 "Rusty"

Rusty is a really nice 7 year old copper colored Virginia Range sorrel gelding. It's our understanding that he is a "hardship return" and that he had been handled. Right now he's just running with the mob, but he's always curious about what the humans are up to. Rusty is a Lifesavers horse.

Rusty's adoption fee is $125.00.

To find out more about adopting Rusty please email
Shirley Allen or telephone 775.246.7636.

About Our Adoption Fees.

Our adoption fees are intended to help defray our costs in bringing in and caring for these horses. However, placing the horses in the best possible homes is our primary concern. In some instances the adoption fees may be negotiable, such as in the case of a very qualified adopter taking multiple horses or an adopter with advanced or specialized skills taking a horse that truly needs someone having those skills. Therefore we reserve the right to adjust the actual adoption fee charged according to the best interests of the horse(s) being placed.
