LRTC ADOPTION LISTING
Horses and Burros
Available for Adoption in Nevada
Part Two
Chow time!

Please note:

The weanlings and yearlings shown are offspring from Virginia Range (Comstock) and Dann mares seized by Santa Barbara County in the Slick Gardner animal abuse case and turned over to Wild Horses in Need (WIN) by Santa Barbara County. The mares were seized early in their pregnancies and provided good care. The foals are healthy and came into the Nevada with negative Coggins and health certificates. They are already becoming very friendly. The dams of the Virginia Range weanlings and yearlings were originally captured in the Nevada Dept. of Agriculture's Lyon County gather.

These weanlings and yearlings will be adopted to qualified parties. Adopters must have appropriate corrals and shelters and be capable of providing proper care. Please note that in order to help ensure the mental adjustment of these animals, it is our policy that young horses be adopted by persons or families where other horses are on the premises.

Adoption fees start at $250.00 and may be higher depending on training received.

The names posted are based on some characteristic that we noticed in each horse. (That's the only way we can remember names of so many horses!) We're compiling training photo albums for the horses as we work with them. As the albums are created, notations will be added to this page that clicking a horse's photo will take you to his or her album.
