Bombproofing
A Course for Desensitizing Your Horse

Imagine that your horse starts to look upon the human environment as an amusement park rather than a "house of horrors." Imagine that you can develop the trust and confidence to master most any obstacle, either natural or man made.

Bombproofing was filmed at the 2004 Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo in Reno, NV. The horses are all mustangs (some just recently gentled) and the handlers are actual adopters, wild horse mentors and 4-H members. The video is narrated by Willis Lamm and is based on the bombproofing course originally designed by the LRTC Wild Horse Mentors.

The video explains the principles of bomb proofing, how the obstacles are set up, the teaching objectives of each obstacle, preparation of the animals for each obstacle and safety elements. While the horses in the video are mustangs, Bombproofing can be useful for virtually any horse.
