The New Obstacle Course
June 3, 2007
Practical obstacles are some of the best tools for developing thinking, confident and trustworthy horses. The Nevada LRTC wild horse mentors decided to take a storage area and permanently station a number of obstacles that otherwise were a hassle to deploy and set up when the mentors wanted to work with them. We decided to debug and "calibrate" these obstacles on June 3rd.

Participants went through the course in a progression from basic to complex. The first obstacles helped sharpen skills needed for the later obstacles. We will prepare complete descriptions of each obstacle in a separate feature, but here is how the "testing out" day went.

A slightly expanded storage area now useful.
