  LIFE VESTS AND RESCUE PFDS

Updated August 13, 2020

Three types of personal flotation devices (life vests) are in service for the team. Standard (old style) PFDs are in service for shore teams. Certified Mustang Survival rescue PFDs are in service for "in the water" teams, and additional PFDs are cached to use for eye protection for horses involved in other types of rescues.

Only rescue certified PFDs with quick-release tag line rings shall be used for members operating in deep water or moving water. See the Safe Use details that appear in Part Two of this information sheet.
